A hands-on, clinician-led course designed to help you confidently assess, treat, and support patients with head & neck lymphedema across the cancer care continuum.

Head & neck lymphedema can feel complex, nuanced, and overwhelming—especially when patients present with evolving tissue changes after cancer treatment.

This course was created to simplify decision-making, strengthen hands-on skills, and help clinicians walk into clinic with clarity, confidence, and practical tools they can use immediately.

This course combines hands on and lecture.

You’ll spend the majority of time practicing hands-on techniques, refining clinical decision-making, and learning how to adapt interventions based on real patient presentation.

Lauren Meffen, MA CCC/SLP, CLT

Speech-language pathologist and certified lymphedema therapist specializing in head & neck oncology, voice, and swallowing disorders.

Lauren is known for her clinician-led, practical teaching style and commitment to helping providers feel confident treating complex patients.

Brad Smith, MS CCC/SLP, CLT

Speech-language pathologist and certified lymphedema therapist. He graduated in 1988 and is one of the earliest SLP-certified lymphedema therapists in the U.S. in 2006. Now with 20 years of head & neck lymphedema experience Brad helped build one of the busiest head & neck lymphedema programs in the country at MD Anderson and continues to mentor clinicians nationwide.
